Dec 19, 2023 at 6:20 comment added Jay My US bank also required me to go to the bank in person to do a wire transfer, so that's not unusual. They also charged like $60, but maybe if you're transferring hundreds of thousands that doesn't matter.

Nov 3, 2023 at 22:44 comment added user125780 How in the hell could this be a scam? Jesus. I am deleting my account with StackExchange. I can live without paranoid b.s.
Nov 2, 2023 at 20:37 comment added MD-Tech This is a perfectly sensible and on topic question if we are confident it is not a scam (I won't pass any judgement) please don't vote to close as there is no product being sought just advise on moving an inheritance
Nov 1, 2023 at 1:52 comment added user125780 Someone mentioned the money was placed in the bank a year ago. Yes, I teach, am very busy, did not want to deal with this and time just went by. Now I am trying to do something. I guess I'll have to investigate moving it to another US bank like Chase. I just need to make sure there are Chase banks in Asia, and I guess there are. I'm sorry, never had this much money before - although I have always saved and had savings.
Nov 1, 2023 at 0:48 comment added RonJohn "back in November", as in one year ago? Also, are you positive that this is not a scam?

Oct 31, 2023 at 21:38 comment added littleadv how about transferring it to a different US bank? If you're an American, you should be able to open an online high yields savings account and do an ACH transfer from the local garbage can where the money currently is
