Oct 17, 2020 at 17:19 comment added JTP - Apologise to Monica Not #1, but in top ten. inc.com/geoffrey-james/… And you are right. As a mod, I have a responsibility to remain objective, and failed for that moment. The 9 DVs show there are 8 others who might share my opinion. But of course, that's all it is, opinion. Be well.
Oct 17, 2020 at 16:37 comment added Fattie Put it this way, this site is personal finance and money. By far - there's not even a second place - the overwhelming, utterly #1, nobody - else - even - in - the - running top selling author on personal finance and money is indeed Kiyosaki. (It's a wonder there isn't a question a day on Kiyosaki. It would be like on the "junior fiction" site, Rowling coming up.) So no, we can't just "mention someone said he is a con man and close questions". If he IS a "con-man", if he's a convicted murderer, this site basically exists for Kiyosaki - something to suck up if one hates him, heh!
Oct 17, 2020 at 16:33 comment added Fattie BY the way, the "Biden" guy is obviously a criminal and the "Trump" guy is obviously an idiot - but that's different. :O
Oct 17, 2020 at 16:31 comment added Fattie @JTP-ApologisetoMonica - food for thought, for those who "hate Kiyosaki!" the idea of just dismissing him as a "con-man" is kind of .. it's like over in the US with politics each side will just dismiss the other guy as a "criminal" or "idiot" or whatever with big slogans. No, he wasn't "proven to be a grifter!", he's an unbelievably successful author who explicitly and openly gives opinions drastically in contrast to the conventions of today. We can't just "shut down" questions about someone we don't like.
Oct 12, 2020 at 3:45 comment added JTP - Apologise to Monica Done. All yours, Ben. I’m not a fan of “here’s bad advice from a con artist, should I follow it?”, but I’m also not going to give him credibility by addressing it. You can, it’s opened.

Oct 12, 2020 at 3:42 comment added Ben Miller @JTP-ApologisetoMonica Even if you think Kiyosaki is a con man, the correct response is not to close and delete any question mentioning his name. Instead, answer the question with logic, refuting the bad stuff. See my meta answer. I do not think that OP is trying to make any point with the question anyway: I think it’s an honest question. Why would we not answer it? If you think Kiyosaki’s advice here is bad, write an answer explaining why (or upvote another answer that already does so). Please reopen the question.

Oct 12, 2020 at 2:47 comment added JTP - Apologise to Monica Not at all. Referring to Kiyosaki. Was he not proven to be a grifter?
Oct 12, 2020 at 2:39 comment added Ben Miller @JTP-ApologisetoMonica Are you calling the OP a con artist? I think it is a genuine question. I direct your attention to this meta question of yours.

Oct 11, 2020 at 17:53 comment added Fattie @Mast "How are you going to make a ton of money if not by a job?" that is a fairly bizarre question. Literally nobody, ever, has made a ton of money "from a job". The whole point of becoming an entrepreneur, taking a chance on your garage company, risking it all on a import business or whatever, is to "be rich"; ie the whole point is you can't get rich in a job.
Oct 11, 2020 at 17:47 comment added Fattie @LoriSantos "Robert Kiyosaki says that college is useless for making lots of money" That's not exactly correct. He says that college is useless if you want to be a businessperson (or indeed an investor).

Oct 11, 2020 at 17:11 comment added Fattie People are confusingly voting down the question because "they don't like Kiyosaki". If you very much disagree with a question, answer it and explain why. The question is perfectly well-asked.
Oct 11, 2020 at 14:46 comment added wondra IMO the logic of the question is inherently flawed - implication is not equivalence: He said that of all people he respects, most of them dropped out. That does NOT say, that of all dropped out people, he respects most of them. The quote does not imply dropping out is a receipt for success, it sais succeful people are likely drop outs, but nothing about improving your odds by doing so.
