There will be times in your lives that one of you is making more money than the other, and that balance may change quite a few times. As long as one of you isn't totally mooching off the other, a 50/50 split, while not technically the most fair distribution, is the best. | |
May 19, 2015 at 19:54 | comment | added | Pseudonym | I actually really like this answer, I currently "rent" a room to my girlfriend in my apartment and we keep it like that to help keep everything in a framework of mutual understanding, and if the split ends up being $400 my way and 384.34 her way (she "gets" less of the apartment and makes less than me) then I will usually just round to $375 for the month because it helps her out and brownie points, and in the end it is only ~$9 which isn't that significant compared to a 4 year relationship | |
