Jun 29, 2017 at 4:53 comment added pojo-guy Put that credit card away - lock it up in a safe deposit box or something. Credit cards are a means of transferring wealth from your pocket to the banks, and encouraging you to see a life of debt as normal. Build up an emergency fund - the baby emergency fund should be about $1,000, then build up a full emergency fund equal to 6 months living expenses. At that point, you will find that you neither want nor need a credit card.

Dec 4, 2012 at 15:14 comment added Ellie K It is hard to give you any suggestions, given the fact that you haven't seen your credit report. Why not have a look at it first, via the URL suggested by @littleadv or any other way you prefer? That might answer your questions, and if not, you can ask again here, but with a little more specific information about particular items that are causing problems for you.

Dec 3, 2012 at 18:26 comment added littleadv If you want help in how to fix stuff, you'll have to tell what it is that you want to fix. You have no idea what's on your report, but you want very particular answers about how to fix stuff you have no idea exists. How about pulling your record and going over it, for a start?
