The government is anxious to report that we are always growing, even if it is just 1%. However, real median household income has actually fallen since 2000 (fred.stlouisfed.org/series/MEHOINUSA672N). So ask yourself, what is really growing? The wealth of the wealthiest, who do not drive the same kind of demand that our shrinking middle class once did?
