I once took out a standard unsecured bank loan for about $50,000 (in the days when annual interest was more like 26% than 6%) to buy shares in the IPO of a company I was very familiar with, sold the shares at significant profit on the same day as the issue, and paid off the loan three days after taking it out. No financial penalties involved.
