Dec 26, 2019 at 19:41 | comment | added | user12515 | FWIW, I didn't see a country specified, but in the United States, it's not uncommon to at least have been to a few other states besides your own. I have been in the majority of states although at an average rate of less than 1 per year I have been alive. I don't have a passport and have never been out of the country except for Canada. I agree with you on the prices - travelling to another country can be VERY expensive. If you just take road trips it can be a LOT cheaper. (You can even go by bus, although strangely that's a lot more expensive than it used to be, something more than flying)

Dec 26, 2019 at 14:52 | comment | added | Mike Scott | What do you mean by area”? I live in England. But France is 35 miles away, and I can drive there for the day for £20 in supermarket vouchers. Very many people in Europe have a different country within a short drive of them.
