I’m looking for a way to make online purchases (video games/streaming-services/etc)/donations without transmitting my name/similarly identifying info.
Apparently in US you could use privacy.com or Abine Blur and then just fill in any name when making a purchase, but both aren’t available in Europe (1), so now I’m looking for a similar service available here in Germany or a bank that natively supports this?
(I don’t mind if the bank, VISA/MasterCard, state authorities can track the transactions, but just don’t want to spread my personal info around to every organization/store.)
Thanks for any help

(1) At least according to this comment for privacy.com. For Blur it says that the purchases are anonymous on their official website, but not sure if this means that you can type in any name or it just says “Abine Blur” as buyer etc.. (As an (bad) alternative here in Germany there are also completely anonymous credit cards available at gas stations, but they can only be used for small amounts and have high fees.)

  • Well, in the US you could just buy gift cards for videogame digital stores, and some streaming services, then it just looks like you spend a lot of money at the supermarket. But you aren't likely to get too far donating anonymously. Especially if we're talking US political donations. – pboss3010 Sep 24 '19 at 11:47
  • Thanks for the answer, but it doesn't really matter to me how it must look (to my bank, my government or the NSA etc). My concern is just spreading my personal info around to shops/organizations that don't have it anyway, so e.g. I don't want my online-news-/movie-streaming-service know my name. (I'm aware that in some areas like in politics sellers/organizations often need to know the buyer, i'm more speaking of stuff that you could buy offline legally with cash.) (Gift cards are a good alternative, but less convenient + many don't have them (e.g. paradox store).) – user3872 Sep 24 '19 at 12:05
  • Questions seeking product/service recommendations are off-topic. Sorry. – Chris W. Rea Sep 24 '19 at 12:36
  • Ok, but would also be very interested if anybody could just point to a category/general name for this type of service or a general method even if concrete products are off-topic. (As an example I first read this(money.stackexchange.com/questions/44745/…) very similar question and one answer is " See what your current card requires for additional cards. – user3872 Sep 24 '19 at 12:50

When my daughter turned 16, and I ordered a card for her, I realized the issuer didn't ask for her social security number, only a name and address. That's when I also ordered a card with my pseudonym. Which I believe is what you're looking for. I realize that you prefer no name at all, but any online site where you place an order will require you to fill in that name field .") – user3872 Sep 24 '19 at 12:51
