According to this article I read from MSN today, markets around the world are trading bonds at a negative interest yield.

This to me seems completely insane - bonds standing over time should generate a profit, but from what I'm reading here there are several countries where they decrease in value over time.

How do people in these countries justify buying a negative interest yield bond as an investment?
