However, would it be wrong to say that BATS Chi-X E is a market maker? From what I understood from user11368's answer, until May 2013, they were only allowed to provide secondhand market liquidity, correct? Trading a security can be done via market maker, if i am not mistaken, so the only difference is the ability to list, for all practical purposes. I suppose it boils down to whether they make a profit on the spread or not. I'm just curious, not trying to argue. | |
